Donate Online

Donations go directly toward funding our programs so that we can continue to help the community.

Tribute Gift – Honor or commemorate a loved one with a donation to Jewish Social Services. Notifications are immediately sent to the honoree, and in addition tributes are published monthly in our JNews Newsletter.

Wills

One of the best ways to leave a meaningful legacy is through your will. By making a bequest in your will to JSS, we can help your good name live on and support your core values and beliefs for years to come.

There are three types of bequests you can make in your will:
1) A Specific Bequest – These give a specified item or piece of property to JSS. These are filled first, before any other elements in a will.
2) A Cash Bequest – These provide JSS or a specified agency program with a specific sum of money. These are filled second.
3) A Residuary Bequest – These are made from what remains in one’s estate after bequests, taxes, settlement costs, and debts are paid.

Stock

The easiest way to donate stock to JSS is to have your broker call the Associate Director at (608) 442-4093. We will take care of everything. Then you will receive a letter of thanks and acknowledgement of your contribution, which can be used for tax purposes.

Planned Giving

You can create a legacy.  By leaving a bequest to JSS, you are embracing the agency’s mission and helping to secure the future.

Planned Giving Options Include:

Outright Gifts of Cash, Securities, or Appreciated Property – A direct contribution of cash, stock or property is the easiest way to make a planned gift. We will highlight your gift in Connections, the JSS newsletter (and, of course, a receipt for your donation).

Named Funds – An outright gift or a pledge of $10,000 or more will endow a “named fund” at JSS, which gives you the opportunity to honor your family or someone you love in a significant and meaningful way.

Life Insurance – You can transfer ownership of a life insurance policy to JSS- or make JSS the named beneficiary of the life insurance policy. This is one of the most affordable ways to guarantee a sizable legacy to the agency.

Life Income Gifts – Charitable Remainder Annuity Trusts or Unitrusts give you the security of a fixed, predictable income during your lifetime – with the remaining assets directed to support the good work of the JSS for years to come. There may also be tax benefits (see your own tax adviser for information and guidance).

Vehicle Donation

By donating your vehicle to JSS, you get to avoid all the hassles of selling your vehicle yourself. All you need is a clear title and we’ll do the rest, including free pick-up. Once it has been sold, we’ll send you a tax receipt and you can be sure the sale proceeds will go directly to supporting our work.
