Join us for our weekly Lechayim series! Each event begins with yoga from a chair at 11am, followed by a lunch and a wide variety of programming that is different each week. This week:

11:00 am -11:30 am: Yoga from a chair 

11:30 am -12:15 pm: Lemon-Rosemary chicken, (veg option: Lemon-Rosemary tofu), roasted red potatoes & challah rolls, garlic green beans, fudge brownies & fresh fruit 

12:30 – 1:30 pm: Monarch Butterflies and their Journey: Karen Oberhauser

Passover Seder at Capitol Lakes

Join JSS Rabbi Renee Bauer, Rabbi Andrea Steinberger and additional volunteers and staff for a Passover Seder at Capitol Lakes in the Seasons dining room.

Please join your neighbors, volunteers and Jewish Social Services staff for candle lighting, challah, wine, songs and discussion to usher in Shabbat, along with the opportunity to recite Kaddish. We look forward to spending this special time together with you! We celebrate Shabbat at Capitol Lakes on the first Friday of each month, led by JSS Rabbi Renee Bauer or Hillel Rabbi Andrea Steinberger, with assistance from JSS Staff and UW-Hillel student volunteers.

A Friday erev Shabbat service led by Rabbi Renee Bauer, with assistance from additional JSS staff. Join us as we light candles, eat Challah, say Kiddush, and sing songs around the table, every third Friday of the month.

Information Session for Ukrainian Humanitarian Parolees and/or Sponsors in US

JSS, with assistance from the Wisconsin State Department of Children and Families and the Wisconsin State Department of Health Services, will be holding an information session for Ukrainian Parolees and/or those who are currently supporting or sponsoring Ukrainian Humanitarian Parolees in Wisconsin.
(This session is not intended for those who want to become sponsors and are looking to learn how to do that. Look for information on BECOMING a sponsor here: https://ukraine.welcome.us/)

This session will be in English. JSS will be providing this information session in Russian at a later date.

Please feel free to share this invitation to those you know in Dane County who are, or who are currently supporting, Ukrainian Humanitarian Parolees that are ALREADY in the US.

During this information session, we will cover the following:
1.  General information on requirements to enroll in benefits & requirements for humanitarian parole status
2.  Vaccination requirements
3.  Documentation proving humanitarian parole
4.  Work authorization
5.  Social Security
6.  How to enroll in benefits, including Food Stamps, Medicaid and cash benefits
7.  Advocacy
8.  JSS Programs and Services
