Join us for a winter market featuring crafts and treats from around the world! All items are handmade by refugees, immigrants and other community members right here in Dane County. The event is free to enter and %100 of sales will go straight to the vendors. This is a wonderful opportunity to support independent entrepreneurs as they work on building their small business. Some of the items for sale will include clothing, baked goods, children’s toys, honey, and much more! Please join us.

Join us for our weekly Lechayim series! Each event begins with yoga from a chair at 11am, followed by a lunch and a wide variety of programming that is different each week. The schedule usually runs as below:

11:00 am -11:30 am: Yoga from a chair
11:00 am -11:30 am: Complimentary Blood pressure check with Lori Edelstein
11:30 am -12:15 pm: Roasted chicken w/ wine and mushroom sauce, (veggie option: seared tofu w/ wine and mushroom sauce), basmati rice, snap beans, fruit & rugelach
12:30 pm – 1:30 pm: Madison Ukulele 

If you would like a meal, contact Jewish Social Services at (608) 442-4083 or email: paul@jssmadison.org by Wednesday preceding the meal.  If you are 60 years or older, a minimum donation of $4.50 is suggested, please pay what is comfortable for you. The cost of the meal is $17.20 for those younger than 60 years old.

Please join your neighbors, volunteers and Jewish Social Services staff for candle lighting, challah, wine, songs and discussion to usher in Shabbat, along with the opportunity to recite Kaddish. We look forward to spending this special time together with you! We celebrate Shabbat at Capitol Lakes on the first Friday of each month, led by JSS Rabbi Renee Bauer, with assistance from JSS Staff and UW-Hillel student volunteers.

Community-Wide Shabbaton to Address Substance Use Issues in the local Jewish Community @ Multiple Locations, To Be Announced.

Cantor Rabbi Rob Jury, PhD is a national leader in Jewish Recovery, a licensed professional counselor, and the creator of Midrash Therapy. He is the Clinical Director of the Tikvah Center for Jewish Hope and Healing.

Together under his warm and engaging guidance, we’ll study, celebrate Shabbat, and develop a recovery-based approach to living that will benefit EVERY member of our community, and that is attuned to Jewish traditions, values and spirituality.

Multiple events will be offered to explore:

  • Addressing the needs of people with Substance Use Disorders in Madison’s Jewish spaces
  • Spiritual tools for the recovery journey–and for everyone on life’s journey
  • Support and connections for Jewish families facing Substance Use Disorders
