
Join us for our weekly Lechayim series! Each event begins with yoga from a chair at 11am, followed by a lunch and a wide variety of programming that is different each week. The schedule usually runs as below:
11:00 am -11:30 am: Yoga from a chair
11:30 am -12:15 pm: Roasted chicken w/ balsamic tomato sauce, (Veg option: seared tofu w/ balsamic tomato sauce), herbed basmati rice, roasted vegetables, fruit salad & dessert
12:30 pm – 1:30 pm: Kathy Kuntz, Director, Dane County Office of Energy & Climate Change
Join us for the annual JSS Purim celebration! We will dress up in costumes and celebrate the holiday with hamantaschen and other festive treats. Yid Vicious will perform as well! Please join us. No registration required.

Please join your neighbors, volunteers and Jewish Social Services staff for candle lighting, challah, wine, songs and discussion to usher in Shabbat, along with the opportunity to recite Kaddish. We look forward to spending this special time together with you! We celebrate Shabbat at Capitol Lakes on the first Friday of each month, led by JSS Rabbi Renee Bauer, with assistance from JSS Staff and UW-Hillel student volunteers.

Join JSS for a passover seder at Capitol Lakes! Our Rabbi, Renee Bauer, will lead a full seder in the Grand Hall. All are welcome at this event – the cost is $25 for the full luncheon menu including brisket, matzah and other sides. Join JSS Rabbi Renee Bauer, Volunteer Coordinator Paul Borowsky, and Spiritual Care Assistant Kristin Geil for a passover Seder at Oakwood Village! Volunteers will assist in leading this service with light snacks and refreshments. All are welcome, and no registration required. Please note the Nakoma Room is located in the Heritage Oaks building.
